The idea behind whether bags came from my own need to carry different bags throughout the changing seasons in Chicago. I wanted to design a collection with options, a bag that would be perfect for a sunny summer day out at the lakefront and another that would protect my yoga mat if I got caught in a downpour. The use of organic materials was paramount to me when I first started the line. So, I decided to feature US-based artisans’ textiles and notions in my collections.

My inspiration comes from the styles that I see other women carrying in/around the city. More importantly, I design bags that I would carry myself. I observe what styles of bags are popular and what functions the bags serve. Current fashion trends are important to me as a designer, but I like to put my own spin on what I see out there. I want my bags/fabric choices/color options to be in style or on trend for years to come, not just for a particular season.

Currently, I am developing the newest collection and will be introducing new materials, such as leather. Stay tuned for more information.
